Carrie Patterson
PT, DPT
Role:
Physical Therapist
Year I joined CPT:
2012
Favorite thing about CPT:
I love the way we all help each other without having to ask. When there is a need, everyone jumps in.
Favorite intervention area:
I love helping children learn how to be mobile whether it’s early skills like rolling and crawling or more advanced skills like walking, jumping and skipping. Children are typically in constant motion and never sit still. When they finally begin to move around on their own it opens up a whole new way for them to learn, explore, play and become more independent.
Why physical therapy?
I chose pediatric physical therapy because I love being able to see the progress from week to week and month to month as children get stronger and more confident in their own abilities.
Outside of CPT:
I live with my husband, our 2 daughters, and 2 dogs. We enjoy traveling, visiting with family, and being outside.
What I wish more people knew about physical therapy:
I wish more people knew that physical therapy can help people at any age, not just adults. When I tell people I am a pediatric physical therapist and I work with children, they don’t understand how I can help children or why children would need physical therapy to begin with.
