MS, CF-SLP

Role:

Clinical Fellow – Speech Therapist

Year I joined CPT:

2024

Favorite thing about CPT:

I love the multidisciplinary aspect we bring to the surrounding communities. It’s so important to provide interventions that are in the child’s best interest and at CPT children are given a space to thrive and succeed in and out of the therapy room!

Favorite intervention area:

I love early language intervention! It’s so rewarding to be a small part of parent education, child-led intervention, and to see a child thrive in their communication ability when given the necessary tools.

Why Speech therapy?

Communication: it is the bridge between confusion and clarity. I knew as soon as I entered college, I wanted the focal point of the degree I pursued to be people-centered and servant-focused. Speech therapy checks all of those boxes and more!

Outside of CPT:

I am married to my husband, Will, and in our spare time we love to travel and play with our Labrador Remy!

What I wish more people knew about speech therapy:

That there is often much more to our field than “teaching people to talk.” It is a deeply emotional yet fulfilling occupation where we work through speech sounds, swallowing, cognition, and even end of life care!
