Lauren Perry
PT, DPT
Role:
Physical Therapist
Year I joined CPT:
2023
Favorite thing about CPT:
I love how friendly everyone is. Whether it’s with other staff or with patients, everyone has a great attitude and is willing to lend a helping hand.
Favorite intervention area:
I love helping kids to gain independence and efficiency with coordination tasks. It may be navigating an obstacle course, learning to skip or successfully completing a hopscotch game, it’s so cool to see how much a kid can learn and grow.
Why physical therapy?
I chose PT after going through it myself when I tore my ACL. My therapists encouraged and showed me how much I could really accomplish and it was the best feeling in the world. I wanted to be that same inspiration for my patients someday.
Outside of CPT:
For most of my life I lived in Buffalo, NY with my mom, dad, brother and sister. In my spare time I love spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, watching sports (especially the Buffalo Bills) and in the winter I love to go skiing.
What I wish more people knew about physical therapy:
That physical therapy is more than just strengthening and stretching. It’s about connecting your brain, muscles, and so many other systems of your body to all work together so that you can move the best and most efficient way you can.
