Favorite thing about CPT:

One thing that I love about CPT is all of the staff. They have already made me feel so welcome and have truly welcomed me into the CPT family. I am most excited about helping children find their own voice and making a difference in their lives, no matter how big or small that difference may be.

Favorite intervention area:
It is hard for me to pick a favorite area of practice because I truly enjoy them all. Each child is unique, and I love getting the opportunity to help them grow in their communication skills. Whether I am working on speech, language, or another area of communication, it is incredibly rewarding to watch children gain confidence and make progress toward their goals.

Why Speech Therapy?
I chose Speech-Language Pathology because I have always loved working with children and knew I wanted to help them in some capacity. I was also inspired by my mom, who is a Speech-Language Pathologist. Growing up, I saw the impact she had on so many children’s lives, and it inspired me to follow a similar path. Helping others express their thoughts, wants, and needs is incredibly important, and I am grateful to be part of that process.

What I wish more people knew about Speech Therapy:
I wish more people knew how much communication impacts every aspect of a person’s life. Speech-Language Pathologists do so much more than help with speech sounds. We also help individuals develop language, social communication, feeding, swallowing, and other skills that allow them to communicate effectively and participate fully in everyday life.

Outside of CPT:
I am the oldest girl in a large blended family. My family is my biggest support system, and I have been blessed with people who love me unconditionally and are always there for me. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks, trying new coffee shops, shopping, especially antique shopping, watching a good movie or TV show, and working on DIY crafts.
